Privacy Policy

Your family's information stays in your family.

This policy explains, in plain language, what the NYSA app stores, why, who can see it, and how to delete it.

Effective October 16, 2026

The short version

  • We only collect what NYSA needs to work: your account, your family's reminders and your family chat.
  • Only the people in your family space can see your family's information.
  • No ads, no tracking, no analytics, and no AI services reading your messages.
  • We never sell your information or share it for marketing.
  • You can delete your account and your data at any time, right in the app.

Who we are

NYSA is a family reminder app for iPhone made by Touhami Melha, an independent developer ("we", "us"). If you have any question about your privacy, write to hello@nysaapp.com.

What we collect

NYSA stores the following so your family can share plans across your phones:

InformationWhat it includes
Your accountYour email address, your password (kept only in scrambled form, so no one can read it, including us) and the name you choose to show.
Your family spaceThe family name, and for each family member the name, role (for example Dad, Mom or child) and color you give them.
RemindersTitle, notes, dates and times, who the reminder is about, whom it should remind, how it should alert, whether it is done, who added it and who has seen it.
Family chatThe messages you send in your family chat, when they were sent, and when you last read the chat.
InvitationsWhen you invite your partner, the email address you enter, so only that person can accept. Invitations expire after 7 days.
Notification detailsA notification token from Apple that lets us send alerts to your iPhone, and your time zone, so alerts arrive at the right local time.

We do not collect your location, contacts, photos, health data, advertising identifiers or browsing activity. NYSA does not contain ads or third-party analytics.

Like most online services, our hosting provider keeps short-lived technical records (such as sign-in times and IP addresses) to keep the service secure and working.

How we use it

We use your information only to provide NYSA's features:

  • to show your family's reminders and chat on each family member's iPhone and keep them in sync;
  • to send the notifications and alarms you ask for;
  • to send account emails, such as confirming your email address;
  • to answer you when you contact us, and to keep the service secure.

We do not use your information for advertising, profiling or selling, and we do not use it to train any AI model.

Who can see it

Your family. Reminders, people and chat messages are visible only to the members of your family space. You decide who joins by sending an invitation. People you add as family members without an account, such as children, cannot sign in and do not see anything.

Service providers. We use only two outside services, and only to run the app:

  • Supabase hosts NYSA's database and sign-in, on servers in the United States.
  • Apple delivers notifications to your iPhone through the Apple Push Notification service.

We do not share your information with anyone else, unless the law requires it (for example a valid court order), or to protect the safety of a person.

Where it is stored and how it is protected

  • Your information is stored by Supabase in the United States.
  • It is encrypted while traveling between your iPhone and our servers, and encrypted when stored.
  • Database access rules make sure each person can only read or change the information of their own family.
  • A copy of your family's information is kept on your iPhone so NYSA works without an internet connection. It is protected by your iPhone's built-in encryption.
  • You can also lock NYSA with Face ID or Touch ID in Settings. Your face or fingerprint data stays with Apple on your device; NYSA never receives it.

No system is perfectly secure, but we work hard to protect your family's information and will tell you if something goes wrong that affects you.

Notifications and alarms

Alerts for chat messages and new reminders are delivered by Apple. To show a helpful alert, the notification can include the sender's name and a preview of the message, or the title of the new reminder. Apple handles this delivery under Apple's privacy policy.

Reminder alarms, repeating nudges and your evening catch-up are scheduled on your iPhone itself. You can turn notifications on or off at any time in NYSA's Settings or in your iPhone's Settings.

How chat becomes a reminder

When a message like "Doctor tomorrow at 9am" mentions a plan and a time, NYSA can turn it into a reminder. This happens on your iPhone, using the date reader built into iOS by Apple. Your messages are not sent to any AI service or to anyone outside your family to do this.

Keeping and deleting your data

We keep your information while you have a NYSA account. Removed reminders disappear from every family phone right away; a small record is kept so all phones stay in sync, and it is erased when the family space is deleted.

Delete your account in the app

Open NYSA and go to Settings → Account → Delete my account. When you delete your account:

  • your sign-in, your profile, your notification registration, the link between your account and your family member, and all the chat messages you sent are deleted;
  • if you are the only member of your family space, the whole family space is deleted too, including all its people, reminders and messages;
  • if other members remain, the family space stays with them. Reminders stay on the shared family schedule, and if you were the owner, ownership passes to your partner.

You can also ask us to delete your account by writing to hello@nysaapp.com from the email address you use in NYSA. Deleted data may remain in our hosting provider's routine backups for a short time before it is overwritten.

Children

NYSA accounts are meant for adults. Children do not sign in or have accounts; a parent can add a child's name to the family so reminders can be about them. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has created an account, contact us and we will delete it.

Your choices and rights

You can see and edit your family's information directly in the app, and you can delete your account at any time. Depending on where you live (for example in the European Union, the United Kingdom or California), you may also have the right to request a copy of your information, to correct it, to delete it, or to object to how it is used. To make a request, write to hello@nysaapp.com. We will answer within 30 days. We never sell personal information.

If you live outside the United States, please note that your information is stored in the United States. We process it to provide the service you asked for.

This website

nysaapp.com is hosted by Hostinger. It does not use advertising or analytics cookies, and it does not track you. Like any website, our host keeps standard server logs (such as IP address and browser type) for security.

Changes and contact

If we change this policy, we will update the date at the top of this page, and if a change is important, we will let you know, for example in the app or by email.
